On Friday, September 6th the Solomon High School Football team took on the Rural Vista Heat. The Gorillas won by a score of 46-0. The game was played in Hope and Coach Strait said, “the game went well overall but we were slow at first but progressively got better each quarter.” The junior varsity plays tonight at Bennington and the varsity’s next contest is Friday at home vs. Wakefield.
On September 7th, the Solomon High School Volleyball team traveled to Peabody for the Peabody Invitational. They played Wichita Classical, Burrton, Central Burden, Peabody Burns, and Wichita West. In the first match Solomon beat Wichita Classical (25-17, 25-17). In the second match Solomon lost to Burrton (20-25, 11-25). In the third match Solomon lost to Central Burden (19-25, 21-25). In their fourth match Solomon beat Peabody-Burns (25-18, 25-17). In the last match of the day Solomon beat Wichita West (25-17, 26-28, 25-20). The Gorillas next match will take place on Tuesday at home vs. the Canton-Galva Eagles.
