The Solomon Music Department and the Solomon Gorilla Foundation (SGF) are gearing up once again for our Spring Concert and School Bingo Family Fun Night. This event will be an evening of fun for all families and guests, full of music, games, prizes, and smiles all around. Festivities start with a performance, Swamped, a musical about friendship, tolerance, and courage, at 5:00 pm by Solomon pre-kindergarten through second-grade students, led by Mr. John Luce. Following the concert is a brief intermission to purchase pizza, snacks, meal deals, and bingo cards. Bingo cards are sold at a suggested donation of $5 for 20 cards. Parents, teachers, and high school students volunteer to host the event and it is truly a community effort.
This brings together both young and old who are hoping to win fantastic prizes donated by local organizations. SGF hopes that community members and businesses will consider donating an auction item, gift basket, or gift certificates for professional services as a prize for the event. SGF members would be happy to pick up donations at the donor’s convenience, or they can be sent to Solomon Gorilla Foundation, ATTN: Kelley VanDeCreek, 411 North Pine, Solomon, KS 67480. Proceeds from this event will help continue to fund many activities the SGF supports during the school year including new scoreboards, field trips, classroom supplies, special class projects, and Solomon-themed shirts for all students. The foundation would like to thank donors in advance for their thoughtful consideration of donating to the event and acknowledges that with the support of these organizations, they can do even more for the students and teachers of USD 393.
