The Solomon Lady Gorillas’ season ended on Tuesday, February 25th against the Centre Cougars at the Regional Tournament. Their overall record was 2-19 and their league record was 1-8. We asked Emma Seidl what was one of the hardest games of the season. Her response was, “I think the hardest game of the season was our last game against Centre because it was our best game of the year and we played our hearts out but still fell short. We will bounce back even stronger next year.” We also asked her what did the team improve on the most during the season. Her response was, “As a team we improved the most with working as a team instead of eight individuals.” We asked Coach Douglas what were your overall thoughts of the season. His response was, “Throughout the season, especially towards the end of the year, we learned what it meant to work hard to get better regardless of the score or result. That’s something that will help us in the off-season.” We also asked him what was your favorite moment of the season and his plans for the off season. His response was, “My favorite memory of the year would be the fight & determination shown in the second Peabody game and our regional playoff game against Centre.” “My plan for the off-season is to use the momentum from the end of the year and use that intensity to focus on fundamentals that will help us become better overall athletes for all sports our girls play.”
