On Thursday, December 10th the Solomon middle school girls played at home against Wakefield. The varsity girls won 35-24.
When we asked Coach Seidl about the game he said, “the gorillas continued to start slowly in the first half and trailed the Bombers 20-16 at half. After a couple of defensive adjustments, the gorillas tightened up the defense and held the Bombers to four points in the 2nd half. Offensively the gorillas turned up the heat and scored 19 second half points and sealed the win 35-24. Kiera Smith hit two very crucial 3's early in the 3rd quarter, which helped us pull away. Our defense in the second half was legit and I am proud of how hard the girls worked defensively to get the win!” The JV girls lost their game by a score of 10-20. When we asked Coach Seidl about the game he said, "The JV girls continue to get better each day and their work ethic has been terrific."
The Solomon middle school boys also played at home against Wakefield. The varsity boys won 39-27.
The next game for the middle school teams will be on Thursday, December 17th against Peabody. The games will be available via livestream on the Solomon High School Sports Network YouTube channel.
