Volleyball

On Tuesday, September 14th the Solomon Gorillas HS Volleyball team played at home against Rural Vista. The team competed in a match that was best three out of five and the set scores were 23-25, 28-26, 25-21, 27-25.

When Coach VanDeCreek was asked what her thoughts were about the game? she said "I am extremely proud of how all the girls played last night. The JV girls played with so much more confidence and have improved in just a few short weeks. The varsity girls fought hard for their win and should be very proud of what they accomplished. They continually made adjustments and persevered even when mistakes were made or unforced errors put us behind. The girls never gave up, remained positive, and kept working together to finish strong." Coach VanDeCreek was also asked how her experience stepping in as the head coach last minute went? Her response was "Both the girls and Coach D made my experience stepping in as the head coach seamless! Mrs. Rizzo was also a huge support to our team last night as well and I am truly appreciative for her help. Also shoutout to our student section who were outstanding in their support of the girls!  Proud to be a Gorilla!"

The Gorillas will be at Wakefield for their next competition on Tuesday, September 21st. They will compete in league matches vs. Little River & Canton-Galva. The games will be available via live stream on the Solomon High School Sports Network YouTube channel.
