Play

Imagine living in a town cursed with stupidity. In the play “Fools,” by Neil Simon, an entire village is plagued with idiocy.

The Solomon High School’s theatre program is producing this play at 7 PM, November 12th and 13th, in the high school commons. It is a dinner theatre style, thanks to Mrs. Vinson’s culinary students.

“The play centers around Leon Tolchinsky who is a teacher who has been hired to travel to the magical village,” said play director Mr. Delay. “The town was cursed with stupidity by the evil Count Gregor. If Leon can teach anyone in the town a single thing, but if he cannot he will become stupid.”

Some characters in this play are Leon Tolchinsky, played by freshman Jase Wendlandt and Lenya Zubritsky portrayed by our very own 21st Century student and junior Luka Hayes. This production is very different from last year when the play was performed and viewed online. This year’s play will be live, in-person which, “we are all very excited about,” said Mr. Delay.

“Fools” is a comedy production and it’s sure to bring delight to anyone’s night.

“It is one of my favorites due to the large cast and lots of laughter,” said Mr. Delay. “And I think we could all use a good laugh,” said Mr. Delay.
