Those who know Ashlyn Guerrero find her humorous, truthful and very put together.
She grew up in Southern California, and she participated in cheerleading all four years of high school. Guerrero didn’t just cheer at school, she also was in competitive cheer. Her team went to about eight to ten competitions a season, and also attended regional, state, and national competitions. She followed her passion for cheerleading to Kansas to cheer for Kansas Wesleyan University.
Her love for helping others brought her into teaching.
“I always had a niche for helping people and I've always loved kids so I wanted to put it all together,” said Guerrero.
She was a substitute here at Solomon before working here full time.
“Having subbed here prior to working here, I absolutely fell in love with the culture and energy of this school,” Guerrero said.
Guerrero is not just a 3rd grade teacher, she is also the Solomon middle/high school cheer co-coach. Her love for cheer is now being passed down. She hopes to see her cheerleaders grow and improve.
“I have wanted to coach cheer ever since I was cheering competitively with 16 years of experience, I wanted to put it somewhere,” said Guerrero.
She is a great addition to the coaching staff. She has high expectations for the girls and they work hard for her. She brings technical expertise and skill to everything she does.
“I just all around love cheer,” she says.
